THIS SESSION of Sound Art Sound Text looks at artists who are dealing with sound in new ways, sometimes musical, sometimes indefinable. The material is close to the theme of the show, which is to investigate sound by itself, not necessarily wedded to language or to music or to any previously established category. How we humans connect with each other through sound is not an entire mystery to animals, who do not use language in our sense yet communicate. Edith Sitwell, Charles Ives, Harry Partch are spotlighted.

THE LEFT COLUMN IS MY CATALOG of Bandanna Books publications in paper. Still working on the ebook thing, and the mobile thing (I don't even have a cell phone or a Kindle yet — help me change that). My inbox: birdie@bandannabooks.com.
